Art Miami Adds Another New Fair to New York Spring Calendar

The Art Miami group, which organizes numerous fairs in Miami, the Hamptons, and San Francisco has unveiled plans for yet another fair that will debut in New York this spring. The Manhattan edition of Art Miami New York will take place on Pier 94 from May 14–17, timed to coincide with the major annual Frieze fair in New York. The news comes less than a week after the Art Miami group announced it will bring Context, another of its Miami fairs, to New York, that one falling during Armory Week in the first week of March (see “Nick Korniloff Reveals Plans for New Manhattan Art Fair.”

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the Art Miami quality, brand, style and ambience to New York City during this important week for the acquisition of contemporary and modern art,” Nick Korniloff, founder and partner of Art Miami New York, said in a statement. “Art Miami New York promises to be a world class fair and we look forward to welcoming the world’s leading art collectors, art advisers, curators, institutions, designers, artists, and art enthusiasts to this new annual springtime event at a fantastic venue.”

The location of Art Miami New York on the far west side of Manhattan at Pier 94, is the same location where the annual Armory Show takes place each March. Located at 55th Street and the West Side Highway, it features 133,000 square feet of exhibition space. Meanwhile, Frieze will be held, as it is each May, on the opposite side of Manhattan on Randall’s Island.

According to Korniloff and the team behind Art Miami, the new fair “will provide a fresh opportunity to acquire important never-before-exhibited works from both the primary and secondary markets in an intimate light. The fair “will cater to both seasoned and new art collectors who are looking to experience the best of what the global contemporary art market has to offer in New York City.”
