Watch Art Star Avery Singer Give Rare Insight Into Her Work for Art21’s New Series

Visit artists in their studios, from New York to Yokohama.

Art lovers need go no further than their computer screen for new artist interviews this summer. Art21 has been producing videos exploring the art world since 1997, and for the next two months, the New York-based organization will release videos on 10 artists, from stars like Stan Douglas, Theaster Gates, and Jeff Wall to up-and-comers like Meriem Bennani, Jordan Casteel, and Avery Singer. The series will debut a new interview every Friday, from June 2nd to August 4th.

Inaugurating the series today is a short video featuring Singer, a painter, in her Bronx studio, where she talks about her aim to “produce a new visual reality.”

“This summer, we want viewers to know they can turn to Art21 for something fun and informative to watch every Friday, where they can enjoy a few minutes behind the scenes with an artist,” says Art21’s executive director and chief curator Tina Kukielski.

You can find the complete schedule of the interviews at Art21.
