Art, Fun, and Fashion Converge at The Guggenheim Young Collector’s Party

The annual Guggenheim Young Collectors party is known for bringing out some of the coolest kids from the worlds of art, fashion, entertainment, and philanthrophy for a night of cocktails and celebration, and this year was no exception. Thrown by the Guggenheim’s Young Collectors Council with support by David Yurman, the exclusive event featured music by DJ Chelsea Leyland as well as a performance art piece from Eva Kotátková.

The party took place primarily in the lobby, where a sophisticated young crowd mingled over champagne, Pointy Snout caviar, and dessert. The stark white museum and sexy, low lights provided the perfect backdrop for beautiful guests to show off their stylish outfits. The evening’s best dressed list included Leyland, in a structural red velvet dress and distinctive braid, jewelry designer Anne Koch in an offbeat and unforgettable outfit featuring a fish-shaped purse, and Young Collectors Committee chair Noreen Ahmad in an embellished, floor length number.

While the Italian Futurism exhibit was dark, guests were able to view the Carrie Mae Weems retrospective at their leisure. Doing so also provided an opportunity to take a break from the action and view the spectacle from above, or perhaps engage in a more intimate conversation than the event’s upbeat atmosphere allowed for.
